Six months
So when does he officially turn six months if there isn't a 31st in the month? I guess it isn't really important. Six months have gone fast. He gets everywhere now by rolling and squirming, he is getting really good at sitting, and he loves his dog Magnum. He will roll and roll and try and get close to the dog so he can grab a handful of hair. Magnum is still a little unsure but will sit around for a few seconds and let Dane touch him then he jumps up and runs away. We are still working on being gentle.
I would love for Dane to stay little forever, but it is also fun to see all the new things he is learning and watch him figure out new things. The other day at the Dr. he was 18 pounds! He doesn't have is official 6 month well baby until June, so it is more like a 7 month well baby. I am not good at writing all my feelings down especially for the world to see. I am just trying to keep record of his milestones. All I can say is I just love him a little more each day!

Here he is trying to escape from the pictures

Summertime is near
The last few days have been beautiful. After hitting up a consignment sale and some garage sales the past few days I am getting baby ready for summer. He has had some adorable little summer outfits hanging in his closet with tags on and all because all winter I have been wondering if he would grow too fast and none of those little outfits would fit. So today he was very happy and I tried on quite a few of them and they fit! hooray! A few are only 6 month size which he has already out grown that size in most of the winter stuff. Maybe he is slowing down or maybe the outfits have yet to shrink.

This outfit with the sweet little hat fits perfect. right. now. unwashed. I am debating whether or not to leave the tags and save it for another baby/consign or keep it and wear it, for like a week or two.
Despite all the coos and smiles this is really how he felt about trying on all those outfits.

chomper
This video makes me laugh. I am glad I got it recorded since this funny little chomper bit only lasted a few days, though he did it almost continuously those couple of days until he had the skill mastered. Now he is over it. I am hoping the 'kisses' thing will stick though because how cute are baby kisses?

A budding sense of humor
Today I was trying to finish getting him dressed after a diaper change. I am in my own little world chasing around his little feet trying to get them in the pant legs. Then the feet get going even harder kickety, kickety, kick. So ridiculously fast and hard I finally gave up trying and just stopped and looked at him, waiting for the kicking to settle down. Apparently that is exactly the reaction he was trying to get because he erupted into a big gurgly giggle. Oh how I love that little boy!

Midnight Madness
The other night Andy awoke in a panic trying to keep me from having a seizure as I lay thrashing around under the covers in full body convulsions. He kept talking to me and telling me it would be ok. In the mean time I am trying to become coherent and let him know that I was in fact ok. I was just trying to dodge the freakish snake that tried to slither up my shorts and kept snapping at me. Snapping at my legs. dodged it. snapping at my side. quick move and avoided that too. Snapping at my back. another quick move and it missed me again. I finally woke up to Andy holding me down. After we both realized what had happened we laughed and went back to sleep. Sorry for scaring you honey!

Month 5
Five months already. Actually it was yesterday, but today is close enough. Last month he went to Colorado for the third time, had his first plane ride and just 2 days ago figured out how to roll from his back to his tummy, now he can make it across the room by rolling over and over. I am going to relish these last weeks of slow mobility. When you are holding him he is so squirmy he looks like he could just get down and crawl. But he is just not strong enough. It reminds me of Princess Bride where Westly is trying to hold off Humperdinck off while he is still getting strength back into his limbs after being mostly dead all day, and he sorta flops around unable to stand.
I am really trying to enjoy each phase as it comes. I have to admit though I loved the newborn stage, but I love this stage too where I am seeing a bit of the sense of humor peeking through. This afternoon he kept grabbing for my face and I would grab his hand to stop him and he was just belly laughing. He likes to tease his momma I guess.
