Was it planned?
Do things ever really go as planned? There are usually a few hiccups along the way.
Have you ever gotten that question before? I have had a few people ask or even say they thought that we just never wanted kids, which makes me sad. Do I seem like someone who would be a bad mom or not like kids? I can’t say I am real fond of large groups of kids that I am in charge of, that takes a special talent, but I love kids, a few at a time, and think they are adorable, I most especially like babies.
But really how do you answer that question, “Was it planned?” I guess that would depend on your definition of ‘planned’. So, my answer would be, no, it wasn’t planned. If I got pregnant according to my plan we would already have a 2 year old. Yes we have always wanted children but, no, it wasn’t according to my plan, therefore, in my opinion it was not planned. I always thought it would be fun to be one of those people that unexpectedly gets pregnant (inside of marriage of course) and it throws them for a loop, but also be overjoyed at the change of events, a fun surprise. In a way, God gave me what I wanted, just not the way I was expecting, a surprise pregnancy, just when I think I would never be blessed with carrying a child, boom, God gives me my joyful surprise!
I am very excited but it still seems surreal at times! The clock is ticking though and we are getting closer and closer to B-day.
70 days. 10 Saturdays. minus 2 Saturdays due to trips. to get things done.
That’s all if everything goes as planned…..

P.S. Belly pictures coming soon.

Black hornets are mean
Saturday night we went to an Art fest where my friend *Abigail Charlton Art* was set up. It turned out to be a beautiful night, low humidity a cool breeze and we enjoyed lots of good company and free dinner and shaved ice.
Sunday turned out to be quite the opposite with unbearable heat which prompted our decision to hang out at our friend’s swimming pool. Now that was relaxing. We played some pool volleyball, which is harder when you are pregnant. When you jump and reach for the ball you realize that you re already stretched to the max, then skin and other things get pulled, needless to say I am a little sore. My game was cut short though after a giant black hornet the size of a small humming bird decided to pick on me and stung my wrist. Let’s just say it feels like getting hit with a baseball thrown by a major league pitcher. Two days later it is still red and puffy and hurts and aches like half way up my arm. So the rest of the pool time was spent floating, which is my favorite thing to do in a pool anyway.
I heart summer festivals. I heart Abigail Charlton Art.

Getting ready for baby
Last week Mom and my little brother came for a visit. Mom and I had all sorts of fun things to do and I enjoyed spending the time with her. I know we were very boring for a 13 year old boy, but I enjoyed having him around too! I had to work the first day they was here but that gave them time to go and visit all the extended family we have in the area. Then I had myself a 4 day weekend and I enjoyed every minute. Mom helped me paint the baby’s room a beautiful French cream color. I still have to paint the trim and some other details but the room is painted! Now we need to find some baby furniture. I will post pictures once it is finished. Hopefully that is before the baby is born :o) I seem to be procrastinating.
We also went to many garage sales and the farmer’s market on Saturday, -every Jr. high boy’s dream :o)
I don't think he was bored the entire time, probably only half the time. I am pretty sure when I was in jr high I would have been bored out of my mind too. I do miss having them around and wish we lived closer. I do get to go for a visit in a few more weeks! Sorry no pictures I need to dig out my camera again.
