Peter Marie tagged me in a fun little game. I am supposed to list 6 non-important things/habits/quirks about myself. So here it goes:
1. I like perfect looking food. If there is a picture my food better look just like it. As I have grown up I am better able to deal with this quirk when things don't work out, but I am still disappointed.
2. I actually like wearing shoes, even in the summer I always have flip flops on. I think it's because I don't like me feet to get dry, dirty or cold.
3. Sorry P.M. but my recent favorite food is grapefruit with a spoon full of sugar. Yum!
4. When ever I hear of a new disease or something that causes cancer I do tend to worry about getting it for a while until the next thing comes around. Most recently it's the readers digest article about bottled water vs. tap in the Feb 2008 edition. Now I am paranoid to drink either but I am thirsty so I do.
5. I don't like speaking in front of a group of more than 5 people. I would much rather sit back and listen. Don't worry I am enjoying myself.
6. Andy is the only man I have ever been in love with!!!

Easter Weekend
Forget that previous post about my sickness being short lived. It has hung on for the last week or so, I am finally feeling better a little better.
We left early Friday evening for Denver, to visit my family and spend the Easter holiday with them. It has been a long time since we have been out there. We got there about 1:30 am Saturday morning. It was a fun and relaxing but fairly uneventful trip. Saturday we hung out, my sisters and I did some quick shopping since I was in need of some shoes for Sunday and then late afternoon we went for a drive in the mountains. We were going to do a more scenic drive over Loveland Pass but we didn't want to get mixed in with all the ski traffic so we went through Black Hawk and Central City. We didn't stop but my sister and I saw lots of good photo opportunities with all the old buildings, we will have to go back sometime.
Then of course I was hoping for some of their 80 degree weather, but it snowed about 2 1/2" on Saturday night. Of course the sun was shining brightly (see Andy's face) and all the snow was gone by lunch. For some reason snow in CO doesn't seem as cold as it does in Iowa. I really wasn't that cold in the Easter pics, except for the fact my feet felt like they were in a bucket of ice. 
Sunday, we went to the Easter Cantata at my church that I grew up in and saw some old familiar faces. We didn't get any family pictures since my brother was sick and 1 sister went to a later service, we were all on different schedules. Then my cousin and his family came up for lunch and stayed the afternoon. They have 2 adorable little girls one is almost 2 and the other is 4 months. The baby is just full of sweetness, she has the girliest cry I have ever heard. Very cute. I am only sorry I didn't get some pictures.

Yesterday was a good day!
I may of had to stay home sick from work, with some sort of crud that was short lived, and the water to the house may have been turned off from 9 am -12pm so they could replace the fire hydrant in our yard. (so it was also very noisy during that time, but they were exact on those the time estimate. I watched closely 9 am - noon exactly) And I may have felt too crummy to go outside...
But, I was finally able to open the windows and let some fresh air in the house!!!! The hope of spring is finally here! Everything is smushy and a muddy mess but nice days are coming, and worst of all, all of the all dog doo from the winter is now exposed. lovely. Just no more snow. please.

This week
Let's see this week I originally thought was going go be slow, but it has seemed to fly by.
Monday- we bought a new tire for our car since we could hear air leaking out of the old one and then found a screw in the side of it. Fun. So we spent the evening at Walmart, I grocery shopped and picked up some household items while the car got fixed up. I hate Walmart, but it was a one stop deal.
Tuesday- I went to the Secret Sisters revelation party at church. I found out my secret sister was our old pastors wife, and she still kept up with things even after they left in December. She is amazing! I am bad at opening gifts in front of people because my personality is it oooh and aww and vocal, so I usually am very pleased with what I get but I just don't make a show of it like most ladies. I need to work on my present opening reaction.
Wednesday - We had a break from youth group, and wouldn't you know it we had to replace the faucet in the bathroom sink, since it was leaking both on the top and underneath. So frustrating. Andy got it almost completed and then realized he needs some sealer of some sort to completely stop the leak.
Thursday- In the morning I thought I saw what appeared to be mouse droppings on top of our microwave. We usually set the bread there and Andy was sure "if we had mice they would have chewed a hole in the bread bag". They must just be crumbs or something. Hmmm. Then while he was at his deacon's meeting that evening I saw a mouse turd on the stove. VERY GROSS I know. I left if for proof. He stopped and got some traps on the way home. Then once he got home I was felt braver to start checking every where for evidences, I saw a few turds in the pantry, a few behind the toaster, a few in some of my baskets. Confirmed. We have a mouse or is it mice problem hopefully mouse? Anyway the trap Andy got was a round hockey puck shaped thing and supposedly once the mouse is in it it shuts and says "mouse caught." Well we had a "mouse caught" this morning from the trap on the stove. Andy took care of it when we I was in the shower. He said I think we got one. What do you mean you think? Either you did or you didn't we need evidence. "Well, it said "mouse caught" so there is probably one in there." So I have to settle for I think and we probably caught a mouse. Now how reassuring is that? I am not really scared of them but I think they are extremely disgusting. And I really don't like them near my food. Yuck.
So they say bad things come in 3's, we ought to be done right? Sorry no pictures of this week. They wouldn't be that exciting anyway.

Anything new?
Well, the weather really hasn't changed much. We did have a few warmer days this weekend. And I say warmer because 40-50 degrees is still pretty cold in my opinion. It is definitely better that freezing your fingers and nose off -10 degrees, but I wouldn't exactly call it a heat wave, but here in Iowa people think it is time to wear shorts and T-shirts. And it all of course is ending in .... another snow storm.
Why is it, I ask myself that I keep complaining about the weather, and then I realized that it really dictates what I do. You hardly feel like leaving the house some days and when you do go out it has to be to somewhere indoors, which isn't always bad, but it usually ends up being a trip to the mall, then I spend money. Not always bad either but I love the summer days when if you need to get out of the house you could step out and sit on the hammock or go for a walk, all with out spending a cent.
We did go rug shopping this weekend and purchased a new rug for our living room, using our ski trip money:o( A bummer about the ski trip, but maybe we will have a warm vacation one of these days in the near future! I took a picture for those of you who like the visuals, I know I personally do. So here is our new rug brought to you by Target. I am very pleased with it! The other one was too small and too blah in color. It really blended in and didn't have much of a contrast. So here it is... still neutral but I like the contrast.

And below I took a self timer pic of me sporting my new purse which I find is incredibly cute. It was handmade by one of my generous friends from HS, and you can see a close up shot of it here. I actually tried to incorporate both the rug and the purse in the same picture but I did not succeed with the lighting and that sort of thing, It's rough when you are limited to self timer.
