snow, snow and Antartica moves to Iowa

It's been a while since I have had time to blog. Nothing much exciting going on here but yet it seems like we have been running around busy until we drop into bed. It also doesn't help that I have a severe case of the winter blues which is killing any creativity I may have. So if it may interest you, this is what we have been up to.

The beginning of December my cousin Megan took us up on the offer to live in our upstairs, which was originally set up to be an apartment. At that point we decided to remodel the bathroom for her so she would have a working shower. It didn't take Andy long to jump in "fist" first for the demo job. Literally five minutes after we decided I heard all this banging around upstairs. "What are you doing?" I yelled. Of course he says"nothing." As you can see there was more than just nothing going on.

To make a long story short. Megan moved in last weekend. And the bathroom is still not done. Though we have been working furiously on it, we have been out of town about half of the weekends since we started the project, oh yeah, and Andy's truck has broken down about 3 times since, and some how a wire to my kitchen lights got cut so we had a dark kitchen for about a week and the subzero temps aren't helping one bit. They say when it rains it pours. She should have running water tomorrow. woohoo! Project almost done. Then I will have to post the after pics, which I think are going to look fantastic!!

...and a happy new year

We started the new year off in Boston this year. It was a good time. Andy was a groomsman in a friend's wedding and then we took a few extra days for a short 'vacation'. I will try to briefly summarize the events of the past week. On a side note, I used to love flying places but I am starting to rethink that. I may have developed claustrophobia from sitting in small stuffy spaces. Every plane we were on was delayed and usually delayed for an hour with us sitting in the plane on the tarmac. Andy did miss the rehearsal, but it was a beautiful wedding.

FRIDAY- SATURDAY: rehearsal and wedding
SUNDAY: we spent wandering around Boston and doing some site seeing. We were disappointed that we didn't make to Harvard and a few other sites but hey there is only so much you can squeeze into a day.

"where everybody knows your name"

Just enjoying the town

Quincy Market- a fun big shopping area
And we finished the day with some yummy seafood. We then spent the next hour or so trying to remember which parking garage our rental car was parked in.

MONDAY: We spent visiting Andy's cousin and his family, then we went back to Boston for First Night celebration. I am not sure why they call it "First Night" when it is actually the last night. We ate at Hard Rock Cafe, then hung around the Boston Commons.

TUESDAY: Was my favorite part, we went to Newport, RI my only regret was we only had an hour and a half to spend there, since we had a flight to catch. We found a scenic drive that took us past the ocean, the cliff walks, and many mansions that could be toured if you had time. I definitely want to go back.
